Our Programs

New Glarus Caring for Kids is a proud partner of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.  Our partnership with The Imagination Library makes this program available to children from birth to age 5 in our community.  Free high-quality, age-appropriate books are mailed to registered children each month. To register, click on the Imagination Library logo, or visit: https://imaginationlibrary.com/check-availability/

Food for Kids is a program we developed in 2012 to address the issue of food insecurity among students. We provide backpacks filled with non-perishable food items to students, especially during the summer when they don't have access to school breakfast and lunch programs. Families also receive vouchers that can be used for grocery items at Roy's Market in New Glarus.

Knight School is another program offered by New Glarus Caring for Kids. It provides small-group and one-on-one assistance in math and reading, as well as instruction in social skills, to elementary-age students. The program takes place after school on Tuesdays through Thursdays, and students also receive a daily snack. Teachers and volunteers from the high school, local churches, and community groups are present to support the students.

Our parenting classes are designed to help parents provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children. We cover a range of topics, including child development, positive discipline, and communication skills.

We also offer support for school-based mental health, providing resources and services to students who may be struggling with mental health issues. Our team of professionals works closely with school counselors and administrators to provide the best possible care for these students.

Finally, our academic and social behavior coaching program provides one-on-one support to students who may be struggling with schoolwork or behavior issues. Our coaches work with students to develop a plan for success and provide ongoing support and encouragement.
